5. Every believer is empowered by the Holy Spirit and assigned to carry out the will of God on earth as it is in heaven.

Statement of Beliefs

It is important to us that you know what we believe as a church. Our Statement of Beliefs are the tenants of faith upon which everything else is based at Legacy Church International. If you have any questions regarding our Statement of Beliefs, please contact one of the pastors. You will find their information on Our Team page.

1. The Word of God: We believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit and given as the revelation from God to man; it is the authority and the standard by which we live and the ultimate rule of faith and conduct (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 1 Peter 1:23-25, Hebrew 4:12).

2. The Trinity: We believe in God the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit, one true God comprised of three separate and distinct persons who are eternally self-existent, self-revealed and function in unity as one (Genesis 1:26, Matthew 28:19, Deuteronomy 6:4, John 14:16, 1 Corinthians 8:6).

3. Man’s Fallen State: We believe that man was created in the image of God, and therefore was good and upright, but through voluntary disobedience to God came under the curse of sin and has no hope of redemption apart from salvation through Jesus Christ (Genesis 1:26, Genesis 3:1-19, Romans 5:12-21).

4. The Full Restoration of Man: We believe that Jesus Christ became a man, gave His life on the cross, rose from the dead and ascended to heaven where He is seated at the right hand of the Father; it is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ that man is made free from the curse of sin and is fully restored spirit, soul, and body (Romans 10:9-10, Romans 3:24-25, Ephesians 2:8).

5. The Work of the Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is actively at work in and through the lives of God’s people as evidenced in the continued outpouring of all the spiritual gifts mentioned in Scripture, which are for the purpose of ministry, service and the edification of the body of Christ. We recognize that the promise of the Father, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, is an experience separate from salvation [evidenced by speaking in tongues] and is for the purpose of endowing the people of God with power for ministry and service (Acts 1:8, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 2:38-39, 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, Joel 2:28-29).
